Well the AbateSE Chapter thundered up the Florida Turnpike from Pompano to meet me at Palm Beach Gardens to head to the 2010 Leesburg BikeFest. We all knew what awaited us, a weekend of kickass fun and camaraderie. Its always great to get away with your brothers and sisters.

The was Lee (Wildcat) & Johnny, Lynn & Ol' Hippy, Hope & Blindman, Suzie Q & Cowboy, Ann Marie & Newcomer, Miriam & Johnny, Fern, Marjorie, NewShoes Debbie, Jimbo, Alex, Brett and myself in our group. And I'm sure I left out some others so let me apologize now. Send me any name I forgot and I will include them.

We got to the Lake Harris Lodge (we always book all their cottages for Leesburg) at about 2:30pm, got unpacked and headed over to the Lake Harris Hideaway (a really great Biker Bar right next door) to start the fun. We met up with some old friends from past BikeFests like Redneck and his Ol' Lady. We stayed there the rest of the day and then adjourned back to the front porch of our cottage until about 3am.

Saturday morning we went into town for the festivities. 100's of vendors and 1000's of bikes of all types to see and hear. Of course more Harley's than any others. But what else would you expect. After wearing ourselves out in the sun we hit the pool back at the lodge for a few.

After that the Wet T-Shirt contest at the Hideaway was getting ready to start so all went over there to watch and cheer on Miriam on. She was defending her last years win, and defend it she did. She won for the 2nd year in a row. You may not think much of that but considering Miriam is 58 and very proud of the fact that she again kicked ass on all the younger chicks in the contest. My only regret is I slept thru the contest so I didn't get to watch or get any pics. I'm waiting on Miriam's Ol' Man to send me his and I will post them.

Saturday evening we all went back to the Hideaway for the renewing of the vows of Cowboy and Suzie Q. They met at last years Bike Fest and 3 months later were married. New Shoes Debbie delivered the vows very elegantly and Cowboy and Suzie Q were again joined at the hips. We all stayed the rest of the night and danced, drank and had a great time.

Sunday morning came and it was time to clean up, pack and head home. A lot of us went down Highway 27 this time instead of the turnpike which gave us a really great ride home. I cut off at Highway 70 and headed back to West Palm Beach and the rest kept on heading south. Everyone made it home safe, sound and completely wiped out from another Leesburg BikeFest.

Now I personally want to thank all who went and I'm proud to call you a friend and bro/sister. I love all of you.

Till next year,

Biker
