13th Annual Leesburg Bikefest 2009

Well this years Leesburg Bikefest turned out to be even more kickass than last years. Johnny and Lee (WildCat) got to my house at 9 am Friday morning (a half an hour or so late as usual). We left to meet up with the rest of the gang on the turnpike. We found them on the side of the turnpike, Jimbo's bike had picked up a nail and had a flat. After loading his bike up on the trailer we were on our way again.

Most of our people are ABATE members, we had Jimbo (VP ABATE Southeast Chapter), Maverick & Pam, Johnny & Miriam, Alex (Wings of Gold), Marjorie (ABATESE), Suzie & Debbie (in a chase car), Lee & Johnny (ABATESE), and of course myself. Now I know I've left someone out, I also know I'll hear about it and will make the appropriate corrections.

We got to the Lake Harris Lodge at around 2pm and started to unpack when we finished that of course everyone was in need of a little relaxation so we headed next door to the Lake Harris Hideaway for a few drinks and some food. What more could a biker ask for, nice cabins to sleep in and a bar right next door. One that any biker can easily stumble back from. Plus we found out that there was a Wet T-Shirt contest set for Saturday the next day. Again what more could a biker ask for.

This is a great place to stay:

Johnny, Lee, Suzie, Big Wheel (who was coming in later that night) and myself were staying in the same cabin so after we got back to the cabin we decide to rest up for the night to come. And it was some night. We didn't even go out, seems after some Tequila and beer everyone started to drop by our front porch. We sat there for hours up to the wee hours of the morning. One of the girls said she was hot and off came her clothes and a few minutes later we were up to our ass's in naked BikerChicks for the rest of the night I might add. We sat there all night just bullshitin and watching the girls. Big Wheel showed up about 1am and when he walked up on the porch his eyes were bigger than a hoot owls eyes. Of course the girls would run off the porch over to the pool stark naked. Its a wonder everybody in that was staying at the resort wasn't on on porch. What a great night. (Can't show all the pictures but you'll get the idea)

Saturday morning we got up and ran over to the Abate Campgrounds and had breakfast. Came back to the lodge and hopped in the pool and basically just lounged until it was time to go to the Hideaway for the Wet T-Shirt contest. Now I have to tell you this was the worst organized contest I've ever seen but once it started who cared. The was about 12 or 13 girls entered but I thought we need to get one of the girls with us to enter, I mean there was a $300 dollar pot at stake. I finally talked Miriam into entering it and Suzie made sure she did by grabbing her hand and taking her over to the boat that all the girls were on. Miriam's ol' man didn't think she would do it but she did. Now the girls were all between the ages of 20 to 35 I'd say, but you have to know that Miriam is 57. I have to tell you to make a long story short, Miriam kicked all those young girls ass's and won 1st place.

After the Wet T-Shirt contest we went and rested up and then headed to Main Street, Leesburg. It was night by the time we got there. You couldn't hardly walk without bumping into someone. The streets of Leesburg were lined with bikes and bikers. I will not go to Bike Week at Daytona and Myrtle Beach, SC can shove it. I'll go to Leesburg anytime over them.

We got up on Sunday morning and had breakfast at the Abate Campground again. Best breakfast for $6.00 and all you can eat to boot. Came back and got packed for the trip home. This was one of the best weekends I've had in a long time. Got to be around people I like and if you know me I don't like a lot of people. Got to meet some great bikers like Frankie & Natalia, Redneck, Cancer and good old Woody (Cowboy) and others but I just can't remember their names.

I heard there was over 150,000 bikes this year. Leesburg just keeps getting bigger and better every year. One reason for this is they want us bikers to come and visit them. Hope to see you there next year.
